Day 20 Tuesday Nov 4 2025 - focussing our group's visit to Lake Sevan, Sevanavank Monastery & Dilijan, Armenia,
1) The start of our morning drive from Yerevan city > Lake Sevan to visit Sevanavank Monastery, Armenia
2) Lake Sevan & the lakeside, Armenia - a large high altitude lake in eastern Armenia, it's known for its beaches, set on a narrow peninsula, the Sevanavank Monastery has 2 stone churches dating to the 9th century, to the south, Hayravank Monastery overlooks the lake from a rocky outcrop, Noratus Cemetery has hundreds of carved stone khachkar memorials, Odzaberd is a ruined fortress built by the Urartian civilisation in the 8th century.
3) Sevanavank Monastery, Armenia - a monastic complex located ona peninsula at the north western shore of Lake Sevan in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia, not far from the town of Sevan, initially the monastery was built at the southern shore of a small island.
4) Soviet Viewing Platform, Lake Sevan, Armenia
5) Lakeside scenery as seen from our moving car along the Lake Sevan Expressway
6) Bought smoked fish (Sevan trout) the second time from a roadside stall along the Lake Sevan Expressway, paid 1,000 AMD (Rm11.60) for 5 smoked fish (smaller size) sold at the stall (4 for the normal size fish). Each of us bought 4 more smoked fish from the previous stall which offered us a better buy !
6) Continuing our drive from Lake Sevan > Dilijan, Armenia
