" My 3 hours (09.30>12.30) Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) in Jalan Sultan & Petaling Street (Chinatown), Kuala Lumpur on Saturday 31 Aug 2019 - a very productive & meaningful morning for me to visit / revisit the Chinatown area on this auspicious day ie Malaysia National Day celebrating her 62nd year of Independence from the British - Malaya (now Malaysia) achieved her freedom & Merdeka (Independence) from the British rule (1874-1947) on 31st Aug 1957 ! Prior to the British rule, the Portugese ruled Malacca from 1511-1641 followed by the Dutch (1641-1824). Malaya was under Japanese occupation for 3 years 8 month from 1941-1945 !

Jalan Sultan & Petaling Street (Chinatown) is within walking distance (200m - 500m) from Pasar Seni LRT station. Others nearby tourist attractions are National Mosque, old KL railway station, Central Market, Kasturi Walk etc "
