Malaysia (Colonial Walk - River of Life, Kuala Lumpur) June 2018

" Travel is never a matter of money, but of courage "

" My Cuti Cuti (Vacation) Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) & Makan Makan (Eating) day trip to Kuala Lumpur with my brother Hong's family from Singapore - visiting iconic & colonial buildings along the Gombak river, Chinatown & Central Market in KL downtown area on Thursday 7 June 2018 "

My brother Hong's two children were on a mid term school holiday visit to KL and his family stayed at a hotel opposite the KL Sentral for 6 nights from 3-9 June 2018. Brother Hong's family (Singapore citizens) enjoyed coming to Kuala Lumpur especially during the pre-Christmas period each year !

For this visit, our group was planning to visit Genting Highlands by bus from KL Sentral on Thursday 7th June but changed our plan last minute and opted to do a colonial walk from Masjid Jamek to the Dataran Mederka area.

From KL Sentral station, we took a Rapid KL LRT to Masjid Jamek station and started our free & easy walking tour from there. The colonial walk took us to various historic & iconic buildings along the Gombak river & Dataran Merdeka area.

We took slightly 3 hours to do this colonial walk and then adjourned for a beef noodle lunch at a famous beef ball noodle stall near the Bangkok Bank in the downtown KL city centre.

After the lunch, we took a slow walk to Petaling Street (Chinatown) & ended our visit in Pasar Seni (Central Market) before heading back to KL Sentral & for me to Subang Jaya !

Another interesting & productive Cuti Cuti (Vacation) day for me & my brother's family from Singapore !

Total expenses incurred: Rapid KL LRT train tickets Rm5 (US$1.20 - senior citizen)

Travel Itinerary: Subang Jaya > KL Sentral > Masjid Jamek; Pasar Seni > Subang Jaya
