Day 10 Saturday Oct 25 2025 (Stephantsminda, Gori, Chiatura & Kutaisi, Georgia) - a long day for our group as we will be on the roads for 6 hours passing the Russian Military Highway & stopovers to visit the major touristy places in the towns of Gori (State Museum of Joseph Stalin), Chiatura (cable car ride & The Monk's Monastery of Katski Pillar) & Kutaisi (overnight stay) !
Travel itinerary: Stephantsminda > Gori > Chiatura > Kutaisi, Georgia (approx. 370km, 6hrs)
1) Early hotel check-out from our guest house in Stephantsminda > Gori, Georgia (approx 184km, 3hr) to visit The State Museum of Joseph Stalin.

3) Russian-Georgian Friendship Monument (Gudauri Panorama) - just 10 minutes drive from Gudauri, an iconic landmark on the Georgian Military Highway, a semi-circular mosaic perched on an outcrop overlooking one of the most scenic parts of the mountain range, built in 1983 to commemorate the 200 year anniversary of the Treaty of Georglevsk & celebrate diplomatic relations between Georgia & its neighbour to the north.
4) The State Museum of Joseph Stalin, Gori, Georgia - Gori is the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, the museum opened in 1957 exhibits memorabilia from his life & the Soviet Union era, it features 6 exhibition halls, his childhood & personal belongings along with his bullet proof train carriage, the museum offers a unique perspective on the life of the Soviet leader, though it is considered controversial by many due to the brutality of his regime.

6) Exiting Gori > Chiatura, Imereti region of Western Georgia (approx. 110km, 1.45 hr)
7) Arriving in Chiatura, Georgia
8) Chiatura, Georgia - a city in the Imereti region of Western Georgia, in 1989, it had a population of about 30,000, the city is known for its system of cable cars connecting the city's center to the mining settlements on the surrounding hills, the city is located inland in a mountain valley on the banks of the Qvirita River.
9) Cable car ride, Chiatura, Georgia - a panoramic scenic view of Chiatura town.
10) The Monk's Monastery of Katski Pillar, Chiatura, Georgia - located in the village of Katski, near the town of Chiatura in the Imereti region of western Georgia, the structure at the Katski Pillar is a monastery complex in Georgia perched atop a natural limestone monolith 40m (130ft) high, known as the "Pillar of LIFE" or the "Most inaccessible Church in the World" !
11) Continuing our drive from Chiatura > Kutaisi (approx. 75km, 1 hr 20 mins) for our 1 nights stay.
12) Arriving in Kutaisi, Georgia - Kutaisi is a city in west Georgia, home to the centuries-old Bagrati Cathedral,, on the city's outskirts, the Gelati Monastery is a medieval cathedral with elaborate frescos, the nearby hillside Motsameta Monastery has martyr's remains, historical Georgian manuscripts, ceramics & textiles are on display at the Kutsisi State Historical Museum, to the northeast, Prometheus Cave features petrified waterfalls.
13) Hotel Accommodation (1 night): Orchidea Guest House, Kutaisi, room tariff Rm98 (US$22.80), 2 single beds.
14) After our hotel check-in & a home cooked dinner, our group had an evening walk (familiarisation visit) to downtown Kutaisi nearby the Kutaisi Central Square, Colchis Fountain, public park & the old town of Kutaisi before retiring for bed.
