Day 12 Monday Oct 27 2025 (Mestia, Georgia) - bad weather in Mestia, drizzling most of the time during the day & night so our movement was rather restricted hence we focussed our visits mainly in & around the Mestia village & old town & a leisure drive to nearby touristy places in Mestia town.
1) Wet weather for our 3 nights stay (cut short to two nights) in Venera guest house in the village town of Mestia, Georgia !











2) Orthodox Church, Mestia, Georgia - viewed from a riverside in Mestia village, Georgia.
3) Early morning walkabout in the village town of Mestia - drizzling at the time of our visit !
4) Scenic view of Mestia village from a pedestrian bridge near the Mestia Old Town.
5) Mestia Old Town, Georgia - the old town is characterised by its ancient, defensive towers, some dating back to 8th & 9th centuries, located in the Caucasus Mountains of Georgia, it is a highland townlet known for its unique alpine & medieval feel, with traditional architecture like the Svan towers, visitors can explore this historic area & visit local museums like Margiani's House Museum to learn about the region's history.
6) St Nicholas Church, Mestia, Georgia - a new & beautiful church, located in the best spot in Mestia, Georgia.
7) The Hatsvali ski lift station, Mestia, Georgia - located close to the centre of Mestia, a town in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region of Georgia which serves as a base for two nearby ski resorts ie Hatsvali & Tetnuldi; scenic views of Mestia village / town & snowy mountain from the station.
8) The Svan Towers of Mestia, Georgia - there are a lot of Svan towers in the village of Mestia & in Ushguli Village, 50km from Mestia, Svan towers are the symbol of Svanetia, nowhere in the world is there an analogue of these unique defensive structures (typically square, about 20-25 meters high with 4 or 5 levels) of the early Middle Ages period.

10) Ratinni House Museum Tower, Mestia, Georgia
11) Svaneti Musuem of History & Ethnography, Mestia, Georgia - front gate locked at the time of our visit !
12) Leisure drive from the Mestia Old Town towards Lake Karuldi direction, located about 10km from Mestia - but our group had no luck as the GPS led us to a dead end road near a construction site ! So near yet so far !
13) My solo & exploratory visit around the old town of Mestia Georgia. My travel buddy, KF Wong joined me later & we did some grocery & fresh produce shopping in minimarket / Spar Supermarket before walking back to our guest house.
14) Statute of Queen Tamar, Mestia, Georgia - a bronze, 4m-higb equestrian statutem of Queen Tamar, a legendary 12th & 13th century Georgian monarch often called "King" for the powerful reign, installed in Dec 2011, a prominent landmark & a tourist attraction.
15) Grocery shopping (rice, brown breads, sausages, fresh vegetables etc) in a minimarket & Spar Supermarket, Mestia, Georgia
