Day 11 Sunday Oct 26, 2025 (Kutaisi & Mestia, Georgia) - spent the morning doing a walkabout near Colchis Fountain, Kutaisi Central Square & ended in Green Bazaar buying fresh vegetables ie lettuce, mushrooms etc. As our next destination is Mestia, a highland townlet in north west Georgia, we departed Kutaisi at around 11.00 & arrive in Mestia at around 17.30, wet & cold hence no outing at night after our hotel check-in in Mestia !
Travel itinerary: Kutaisi > Mestia, Georgia (approx. 223km, 5hr)
1) My early morning walkabout near Colchis Fountain, Kutaisi, Georgia - prior to our group's meet up at 08.00 in front of the guest house for a group's visit to downtown Kutaisi, Georgia.
3) St David The Builder Church, Kutaisi, Georgia
4) Meskhishvill Theatre, Kutaisi, Georgia - built in 1950s, the theatre was named after Lado Meskhishvill in 1940, it has 1,100 seat hall, a 100-seat theatre & a museum.




5) Kutaisi Central Square, Georgia - officially named David Agmashenebeli Central Square, the main public space in the city is known for the ornate Cokchis Fountain at its center, this historic square is home to the Lado Meskhishvili Drama Theatre & a large park, making it a lively hub for both locals & tourists, the square is a relaxing & central location with a traffic free, peaceful atmosphere surrounded by a park & a bustling market.
6) Green Bazaar, Kutaisi, Georgia - a large complex located in the heart of the city, opposite the park, 5 minutes walk from the Colchis Fountain, a vibrant market place with fresh produce, spices, sweets, dried fruit, churchkhela, tklapi, dairy products, meat etc offering an authentic Georgian experience & low price !
7) Exiting Kutaisi to our next destination, Mestia, a highland townlet in north west Georgia, wet weather today so no easy meat driving this stretch of mountainous roads but we were well rewarded & greeted by stunning mountain scenery, fall leaves turning yellow, a very pleasing & pleasant sights !

8) A stopover for a rest (30 minutes) & a light lunch (mainly breads) nearby a bridge & an unoccupied building amid a drizzling rain on wet & slippery mountainous roads !
9) Arriving in Mestia highland townlet, north west of Georgia, at an elevation of 1,500m in the Caucasus Mountains, finally our ordeal is over & due to the wet weather, it will be a bitter cold night to endure & sleep with a heater on & cover with a thick blanket ! For sure, no outing tonight for our group !
10) Hotel Accommodation (2 nights): Guest House, Mestia, room tariff Rm74 (US$17.20), 2 single beds + kitchen facilities.
