Total expenses incurred (4 days) : E$70.45
After Barcelona & Andorra, my next stop is Nice. I arrived at a Nice suburban Eurolines bus stop at 03.45 and it was cold & deserted. I took refuge at a nearby office building for 2 hrs and took an early morning airport shuttle bus to the Nice Airport Terminal for a connecting bus (E$1.50) to the Nice city centre. I had to stay for 3 nights in Nice as the first available Eurolines bus to Florence, Italy was fully booked. But this was a blessing in disguise as I had ample time to visit Monte Carlo, Monaco & Cannes.
Bus fares from Nice to Monte Carlo (Bus No 100) & Cannes (Bus No 200) were cheap ( E$3 return) so it made sense for me to stay in Nice instead of Monte Carlo.
Monaco, Nice & Cannes, located in the south east coast of Mediterranean sea, have beautiful waterfront & beaches so these three places are top tourist destinations in the French Riviera region. So if you are visiting Paris, do not forget to drop by to see Nice, Monte Carlo & Cannes !
Cannes was holding the 67th International Film Festival in mid-May 2014 so the rich, the famous & the celebrities were all in town plus a number of flashy cars roaming on the main road.
