I had visited Berlin in 2010 so for this trip, I took an opportunity in my return trip from Romania and paid a visit to Munich. From Munich, the Eurolines bus had a brief stopover in Frankfurt before heading to Belgium and London. I could be keen to visit Frankfurt, Cologne & Hamburg if I ever visit Germany in the near future. This bus journey from Bucharest to Munich took 29 hrs so if you survive this bus ride, you are great !

Munich or Munchen is the capital of the German state of Bavaria. The city has a population of 1.5 million and is the 3rd largest city after Berlin & Hamburg. Munich was badly damaged by allied bombings during the World War 11. The inner city near the New Town Hall & Martenplalz has a number of historical buildings & shopping malls, a favorite place for tourists. The Munich's Oktoberfest and its beer tents attract million of tourists in Sept each year .

I took a train ride from Munich to Salzburg during the mid-day of Sunday. I arrived at the last train station of Salzburg at around 15.00 but it was too late for me to take a shuttle bus service to the mountain villages in Salzburg - so near yet so far & minus the sound of music to greet me !
