D7 Saturday April 18 2026 (Weihai & Yantai, Shandong) - this is the only long distance bus we took for our inter-city travels throughout our stay in Shandong, the bus journey from Weihai > Yantai, Shandong took approx 1hr 20 minutes. Upon arrival in Yantai after the hotel check-in, we began our exploratory visit to Yantai Hill Park & the surrounding, waterfront area of Yantai, Changyu Wine Culture Museum & in the late afternoon, we made a visit to Joy City Mall & Chaoyang Street; my 3rd visit to Yantai, Shandong (last visits were in Aug & Dec 2015) !

1) Hotel check-out to board a long distance bus (CNY31 = Rm18.60) from Weihai Railway Station (departing 09.30) > Yantai Bus Terminal
2) Long distance bus drive (CNY31 = Rm19) from Weifang > Yantai (approx 73 km)
3) Arriving in Yantai city centre, Shandong
4) A short 10 minutes walk from the Yantai Bus Terminal to Lijing Coast Hotel.
5) Hotel Accommodation (Yantai, Shandong) - my 2 nights stay in Lijing Coast Hotel, a short walk from the Yantai Bus Terminal; room tariff Rm125 = US$31) + breakfast
6) Yantai Railway station & the surrounding as viewed from a moving Didi car from our hotel to Yantai Hill Park.
7) Yantai Hill Park, Shandong - a historic coastal scenic area & former foreign treaty port located on a small peninsula in Yantai, renowned for its Western-style consulate buildings, a panoramic lighthouse & scenic sea views, the Park is often considered the birthplace of the city & is free, popular spot for walking, history & photography.
8) Memorial Hall of Bing Xin (1900 > 1999), Yantai Hill Park, Shandong - a great collection of Bing Xin from childhood days to academic pursuit & working life, Bin Xin was one of the famous Chinese women writers of the 20th century, many of her works were written for young readers during that era, the original museum building was built during the Qing Dynasty as a guild hall of ship owners & merchants of Fujian Province, it was converted into a museum in 1858, open daily 08.30 > 11.30 & 13.30 > 17.00, free admission.

11) Temple of The Dragon King, Yantai Hill, Shandong - built in 1621 > 1627), it was the HQ of French navy (before entering Beijing) in June 1860 when they landed in Yantai.

17) Joy City Mall, Yantai, Shandong - window shopping & savouring of a Cantonese style pork leg rice (CNY25 = Rm15) in the food court mall.
18) Chaoyang Street by Night, Yantai, Shandong - a historic, 400m long pedestrian street built in 1872 at the foot of Yantai Hill, a popular, brightly lit tourist place for dining, shopping & nightlife featuring a mix of European style architecture, cafes & trendy shops
19) After the Chaoyang Street visit in the evening, we took a Didi back to our hotel for a well earned rest.
