Day 12 Thursday April 23 2026 Part 1 (Shouguang & Weifang, Shandong) - this post focussed on my group's day visit to the 27th Shouguang Vegetable Expo & Lantern Festival Night April 2026 (April 20 > May 30 2026), this was an impromptu visit (not in my group's travel agenda) & we got the news from a Didi driver that this International Vegetable Expo held in Shouguang has attracted many visitors hence our reason of visiting even though it was held at a location approx. 61km from Weifang.

1) Early morning walk to touristy places nearby our hotel in suburban Weifang, Shandong.
2) Yujia Courtyard Historic Conservation Area, Weifang, Shandong - Ming & Qing style courtyard, traditional folk houses style, brief external visit only !
3) The China Shouguang International Vegetable Science & Technology Expo - a premier annual agricultural event held in Shandong Province, focussing on "Green Technology & Future", as of April 2026, the 27th edition advanced agricultural technology, including unmanned farming, robotics & vertical farming. Shouguang is the birthplace of winter vegetable greenhouses in China & enables farmers to grow vegetables all year round.
4) Shouguang Vegetable Museum - exhibits of artefacts, ancient tools & implements, ancient life of farming community, glass bottles display of various varieties of preserved vegetables grown in China.
4) Hall 3 VR Mars Greenhouse - exhibits of robotic technology & integrating agriculture culture with aerospace science education.
5) Hall 4 Rare & Exotic Plants Pavilion
6) Hall 5 Vegetable Practical Technology Exhibition
7) Ramen noodle lunch (CNY20), Shouguang Vegetable Expo April 2026
8) Hall 1 Investment & Booth Exhibition Area, Shouguang Vegetable Expo, Weifang, Shandong

10) Hall 6 "Impression Weifang" Pavilion - giant pumpkins growing up to 200 kilos on exabits here !
11) Hall 7 Vegetable Soilless Cultivation Pavilion - sky red potato trees on exhibits !
12) Exiting (11.00 > 14.30) Zhouguang Vegetable Exp after almost 3.5 hours of visit - really a highly educational & interesting visit ! No regret coming here !
