Tsingdao Brewery Museum

D4 Wednesday April 15 2026 (Qingdao, Shandong) - my 4th & final day in Qingdao, today we started our visits (using Didi rides) to Xiaomaidao Park first, followed by Luxun Park (last visit was in Aug 2015), Marine Museum, Xiaoqingdao, Naval Museum as these 4 touristy places are close to one another, so we took it easy & enjoy the walk & admire the natural surrounding; in the afternoon, we visited the Tsingdao Brewery Museum (visited with my wife in Dec 2015) & the Beer Street in Old Qingdao. A productive day after seeing some of the best sightseeing places in this coastal city of Qingdao.
1) My solo morning walk in a local residential community wet market selling fresh produce, fish & seafood etc, small eat shops, bakeries & the surrounding (nearby our hotel).
2) My group's breakfast in a a local residential community food court (nearby our hotel) - savoured a bowl of century egg porridge, fried dough & wantan soup (CNY 22 = Rm13.20)
3) Didi ride from our hotel (after a morning breakfast) to Xiomaidao, Qingdao, Shandong
Xiaomaidao Park is a newly popular scenic spot in Qingdao, ideal for a leisurely stroll, watching magnificent sunsets, the park features beautiful coastal views & is a great place for taking wedding photos or simply relaxing by the sea, nearby there is a tall Guan Yin statute .
4) Luxun Park, Qingdao, Shandong - dedicated to the memory of Lu Xun, a famous writer during the May Fouth Movement, the park stretches for nearly a kilometer along the Huiquan Bay & covers 4 hectares with a combination of natural setting & cultural sites. Nearby touristy places are Xioqingdao, Naval Museum & Marine Museum, so you need at least half a day & manage your time well to visit all these places.
5) Marine Museum, Qingdao, Shandong - visited both the Fantasy Palace of Jellyfish & Sea Lion / Sea Aquarium, located next to the Luxun Park. I enjoyed the Jelly fish pavilion visit, an excellent exhibit of various species of jelly fish found in Qingdao & nearby areas, both aquariums were well visited by big groups of primary school kids at the time of my visit
6) Sea Lion / Seal Aquarium, Marine Museum, Qingdao, Shandong
7) Xiaoqingdao Park, Qingdao, Shandong - an island in Qingdao, located in the southeast of Zhan Qiao pier, it was a restricted military area until 1897, during the German occupation in 1900s, Qingdao was a leased territory under German administration.
8) People Liberation Army (PLA)'s Naval Museum, Qingdao, Shandong - located adjacent to Luxun Park, officially opened in 1989, visited two warships on exhibits in an open area at the rear of the museum & also the museum interiors, free admission for senior citizens.
9) Tsingdao Brewery Museum, Old Qingdao, Shandong - famous brewery with industrial manufacturing displays & a lounge offering beer samples& snacks, highly educational.
10) Qingdao Beer Street, Shandong - located near the Tsingdao Brewery Museum in Qingdao Old Town, lined with dozens of bars & restaurants that are decorated in a unique Sino- European style.
11) Tsingdao 1903 Successor Baking, Qingdao Beer Street, Shandong - ingenious baking with fresh beer yeast, retail counters selling a range of high quality freshly baked breads & pastries.
12) Tsingdao Museum Bar, Old Qingdao, Shandong - a great place to rest your feet after the museum & beer street visits, nice ambience for beer drinkers to enjoy a glass of beer drinking & tasting in the bar !
13) Qingdao Beer Exchange, Old Qingdao, Shandong - a newly popular spot in Qingdao with its model of scanning a QR code with a mobile phone & serving beer on tap by itself, the unit price of beer fluctuates like a Stock Exchange Market, when sales are high, the beer price rises (displayed in red), when sales are low, the beer price falls (displayed in blue), so beer buying through the various dispensers here is just like stock trading !

15) Mixed braised chicken / potato / vegetable + white rice dinner (CNY14 = Rm8.40) at a local community food court nearby our hotel.
