Tiga Raja Jetty (Parapat), Sumatra

 

Day 6 Tuesday May 27 2025 (Lake Toba & Medan, Sumatra) - after an overnight stay in Lake Toba, this morning we took a passenger boat (10.30) from our hotel's jetty to Tiga Raja jetty (Parapat) followed by a MPV van ride (13.00) back to Medan City thus ending my 1st time visit to Lake Toba - a belated dream has finally been fulfilled for KM ! Well done !    

1) Scenic Lake Toba as viewed from the hotel's balcony in the early morning, peaceful & calm ! 

2) Hotel check-out & ready for boarding a passenger boat from our hotel jetty to Tiga Raja Jetty (Parapat) for our return bus journey back to Medan, boat journey takes approx 30 to 50 minutes.

4) Boarding a MPV van (IDR125k = Rm34 = US$7.70) from the Tiga Raja jetty for our return journey to our hotel in downtown Medan (approx 4 to 5 hours) 

5) A brief visit to a local fish market & nearby open air market near Tiga Raja Jetty prior to the van ride. 

6) MPV van ride from Parapat to Medan city & a brief stopover in Pematang Siantar for toilet run.

7) Kualanamu  International Airport, Medan, Sumatra - MPV van dropped off a passenger to International Airport before heading to Medan City for our hotel check-in.  

8) Transmart Mall, Medan, Sumatra - a short walk from our hotel to Transmart Mall to exchange some local currency. 

9) DeliPark Mall, Medan, Sumatra - late afternoon visit to buy bread & bakeries to be eaten as snacks at night & in the following morning !  

10) Dinner in Mie Pangsit Siantar, Medan, Sumatra, each of us savoured a bowl of Mie Pangsit (wan tan) noodle soup Rm10.25 (US$2.30) - my 2nd visit to this noodle stall !
