India (Post Covid-19 Overseas Visit No 7 - My 37 days Free & Easy Visit to Northern, Central & Southern India) City No 11 - Mysuru (Mysore), Karnataka - Jan 7 2024 (Day 28)

Day 28 Jan 7 2024 - train ride from Bengaluru > Mysuru Junction Rs316 = Rm20 inclusive of a packed lunch & drink, CC seat 10.45 > 13.00, 139km)

Hotel Accommodation: Aishwarya Suites, Highway Circle, Mysore, India - my 3 nights stay Rp784 = Rm46 (twin sharing) per room night. 

Nexus Centre City, Mysore, Karnataka - my 1st visit to a premier shopping mall in Mysuru in the late afternoon after the hotel check in & a short rest ! Bought groceries ie tomato purees, eggs & vegetables etc for our own prepared meal cooking in the hotel room ! 


Day 29 Jan 8 2024 (City No 11 - Mysuru, Karnataka) - devote our whole day visiting the Mysore Palace / Museum & St Philomena's Cathedral & the surrounding (using auto-trishaws)

1) Mysuru Fort, Karnataka (currently under renovation).  


2) Buildings & landmark nearby the Mysore Palace 


3) Mysore Palace (within a historic fort) Part 1, Mysuru, Karnataka - also known as Amba Vilas Palace, a historical palace (completed in 1912) & a royal residence, a 3 storey stone palace with marble domes & has a 145ft tall 5 storey tower, a large garden surrounding the palace, 12 Hindu temples, ornate rooms, coronated Durbar hall, grey granite, Indo-Saracenic building, used to be an official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty & the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore, the palace is in the centre of Mysore & faces the Chamundi Hills eastward. 

A must visit if you are in Mysuru, Tanarkata. Very impressed after visiting & seeing this palace museum (both external & interior), admission fee Rp100 = Rm5.80.

Major tourist attractions in Karnataka ie Beluru (151km from Mysuru), Halebeedu (144km), Nanjanagudu (23km), Thalakadu (49km), Srirangapattana (18km), Nimishamba (19km), Balmuri Falls (16km), Lathih Mahal Palace (8km). 


3) After the Mysore Palace visit, both of us took an auto-rickshaw to the KSRTC Central Bus Station to pre-book our bus tickets for our next visit ie Ooty, Tamil Nadu (128km) departing Jan 10 2024.

7) ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna Temple, Mysuru, Karnataka - this massive cultural complex, built on a hillock, with granite, marble & Korean glass, was established to promote Vedic culture & spiritual learning, took a MRT train from Chickpete to ISKCON for an evening visit !
