India (Mumbai,Maharashtra) Sept /Oct 2019 Part 1


Day 8-10 Tuesday - Thursday 17-19/9/2019 - My 3 days 2 nights stay in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Mumbai was voted as one of the 100 Best Cities in the World by the Lonely Planet in 2009 ! 

" Mumbai (formerly called Bombay) is a densely populated city on India's west coast. A financial center, it's India largest city. On the Mumbai harbor waterfront stands the iconic Gateway of India stone arch, built by the British Raj in 1924. Offshore, nearby Elephanta Island holds ancient cave temples dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The city's also famous as the heart of the Bollywood film industry " 

Arrived mid-day by train from Aurangabad to Dadar Railway station (06.00>12.30)


Took a local train (Rp10=Rm0.60) from Dadar to Churchgate station, the closest station to our hostel located in Colaba.

Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) in Mumbai - due to late monsoon season, it was drizzling most of the time in Mumbai so I used a small umbrella & wore a traveler hat most of the times when walking around town !

2) Hotel Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai - as our hostel is located nearby, we passed through this magnificent building a few times during the day.

5) Former Admiralty House & Residence of the Admiral from 1764 > 1792


6) Naval Dockyard, Mumbai - established in 1735 by British East India Company 



7) Church of St Andrew (1815), Fort, Mumbai 


8) Bombay Natural History Society, Mumbai 


9) Indian Red Cross Society Chowk & surrounding, Mumbai 


10) Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai


11) Parsee Fire Temple, Mumbai
