Cave No 10 - the earliest chaityagriha at Ajanta belonging to Hinayana sect of Buddhism




Cave No 16 - largest, finest & most interesting monastery at Ajanta 


Cave No 17 - finest & magnificent Mahayana monasteries, known for its display of the greatest number of Jatakas


One of the Ajanta caves has a 24ft sleeping or reclining Buddha statute which is really beautiful. This statute depicts the Historical Buddha in the last moments of life on earth, prior to the Buddha dying one last time before entering Nirvana ! 


Cave 24 - am incomplete monastery but ranks the second largest excavation at Ajanta (7th century AD)
