India (Aurangabad,Maharashtra) Sept / Oct 2019


Day 4 Friday 13/9/2-19 - Took a Metro from Lakdi-ka-pul station to Secunderabad East for an overnight train ride to our next destination ie Aurangabad focussing our visits to Ellora & Ajanta Caves. 


Boarding our overnight train 3A (Rp815=Rm49) from Secunderabad > Aurangabad 18.10 > 03.45 (9.35hr) 


Day 5 - 7 Saturday - Monday 14-16/9/2019 - My 3 nights stay in Aurangabad 

" Aurangabad is a city in Maharashtra state in India. It's known for the 17th century marble bi Ka Maqbara shrine, styled on the Taj Mahal. The nearby Shivli Maharaj Museum dedicated to the Maratha King Shivaji. displays war weapons & a coin collection. North of the city, the Aurangabad Caves comprise ancient, rock-cut Buddhist shrines. West of the city, battlements surround the Daulatabad Fort."

1) Arriving at the Aurangabad train station in the early morning ! 2 hours of resting in the train waiting room until 06.00 before taking a short walk to our hotel, located opposite the train station ! 


2) Government Tourist Information Counter, Aurangabad Railway Station - offering Volvo airconditioned bus guided Ajanta (Rp613=Rm37) & Ellora day tour (Rp276=Rm17); departure at 08.30 returning 17.30. But we opted to take a local bus to both the caves for the next 2 days ! 



3) Hotel check in - Hotel Holiday Era, 1st floor, Disha Sagar, Opposite Railway Station Entry Gate, Railway Station Road, Aurangabad Tel +91 97620 94848. Online booking room tariff: a Deluxe Queen Room (non-air-conditioned) Rp939.60 x 3 nights=Rp2,818.80 inclusive of tax (Rp470=Rm28.20 per pax per night)
