Japan (Takayama) April 2017


Takayama is a city in Japan's mountainous Gifu Prefecture. The narrow streets of its Sanmachi Suji historical district are lined with wooden merchant's houses dating back to the Edo Period , along with many small museums. The city is famed for its biannual Takayama Festival, going back to the mid 1600's, celebrating Spring Fall with parades featuring ornate, gilded floats & puppet shows. 

Day 2 - Shirakawago > Takayama (50km)
