Day 2 - Gujo Hachiman (90km) > Shirakawago
1) The historic villages of Shirakawago & Gokayama, an UNESCO World Heritage site, The site is located in the Shogawa river valley stretching across the border of Gifu & Toyama Prefectures in central Japan. These 3 well separated villages are well known for their houses constructed in the architectural style known as "Gasso Zukuri" - the prayer -hand construction. It is characterized by a thatched and steeply slanting roof resembling two hands joined in prayer.
2) Wada Gasso House - an opportunity to learn about the special features and construction of a Gassho Zukuri house
