India (Manali, Himachai Pradesh) July 2007 D-16

Early morning, I practiced my Qigong in front of the corridor of my hostel. As we had booked an overnight bus (Rs300=Rm27) from a local travel agency in old Manali to McLeod Ganj ( my next destination), we had a full day in Manali today. We rested for half a day in old Manali and checked out of our hostel around 12.00pm. We took an auto-rickshaw to new Manali town and left our luggage at the bus company's office so that we could explore the new Manali town in the afternoon.

Manali is like a typical country town found back home in Malaysia. Auto-rickshaws had a roaring business in Manali as the most common and cheapest mean of transport. Each ride around town costs Rs20=Rm1.80 per person. The bus terminal is in the town center near a shopping street.

As we walked around the main streets, we spotted a number of eatery stalls selling deep fried food, fruit & vegetable, frsh fruit juices, groceries etc
