A guide book on The Freedom Trail, Boston, USA - the trail is a 2.5 mile path through downtown Boston that passes by 16 locations significant to the history of the United States. It winds between Boston Common to the Bunker Hill Monuments in Charlestown. An USA backpacker, my room mate on loan this book to me for a day - a very useful guide ! The map identifies the major sites of The Freedom Trail so I followed the trail by taking subways & by foot to visit as many of these historical sites as possible !
2) Boston Common & Public Garden - a central public park in downtown Boston, Massachusetts, Dating from 1634, it is the oldest city park in the United States, nearest Subway station Boylston Street - walking distance from HI Boston Hostel (15-20 minutes) !

6) Granary Burying Ground (1660), Boston - a place of honor & history, Memorial of Franklin & John Hancock (1737-1793)
8) The Boston Massacre site (1770) near Old State House, Boston
9) Custom House Tower, Boston - a skyscraper in Mckinley Square, in the Financial District neighborhood of Boston, the original building was constructed in 1837-47, the Tower was added in 1913-1915
