Malaysia (Historical Landmarks in Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur) Oct 2018 - Part 3


1) Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square) 


2) Flagpole (95m) in Merdeka Square - it was here the Union flag was lowered & the Malaya flag was hoisted at midnight on 31st August 1957 after achieving independence from the British (1786 - 1957)

6) Loke Yew Building - owned by Wong Loke Yew (1845-1917), a wealthy Chinese businessman who made his fortune in tin mining & rubber plantations, play a major role in developing Kuala Lumpur; the founding father of the Victorian Institution in Kuala Lumpur


7) River of Life & Masjid Jamek - the convergent point of Gombak & Klang river where Kuala Lumpur started !
