Indonesia (Jakarta) July 2017 D-7

Day 7 Monday 24/7/2017

Jakarta - Today, I focused my visit to various touristy places in Old Jakarta, Sunda Kelapa harbor & Chinatown area.

1) Free morning breakfast provided by Six Degrees hostel. Surprisingly, the hostel's fried rice tasted really good. I will try this breakfast again in the next morning !

The fried rice tasted so good that I had the same breakfast in the next morning before departing for airport

2) Pasar Antiques & Copperwares, Jalan Surabaya, near Cikini Raya - window shopping only ! Too much hassle to haggle for a right price for a piece of antique you fall in love with ! Good to see but heavy to carry especially if you are travelling with a cabin size bag !

3) Commuter train ride from Cikini train station > Jakarta Kota train station (IDR3.000 x 2 return) + morning activities near Cikini train station

4) Arrival at Jakarta Kota train station - I noticed the old hanging grandfather clock is no longer working !

5) Tourist Information Booth in Fatahillah Square, Kota Tua Jakarta - a must see when in Jakarta ! Old is Gold !

6) Fatahillah Square, Kota Tua Jakarta (my 2nd visit in this trip). Today is Monday so the crowd is much lesser compares with the weekend ! All museums here are closed on Monday so another missed opportunity !

7) Sunda Kelapa Harbor - Wow ! A 490 year old harbor during the Dutch era !

8) Kali Besar (The Great Canal) - after seeing it, I probably think the canal now should call Kali Kechil (small canal) !

9) Menara Syahbandar (Watch Tower)

10) A panoramic view of Sunda Kelapa harbor & Kali Besar (The Great Canal) from the observation deck of Menara Syahbandar (Watch Tower)
