Indonesia (Bogor & Jakarta) July 2017 D-6

Day-6 Sunday 23/7/2017 - a great weekend to visit the Royal Botanical Garden (200 years anniversary) in Bogor and the Ancol Dreamland theme park in Jakarta Bay City. It was a beautiful day !

1) Free morning breakfast provided by Six Degrees hostel - a daily choice of a bowl of porridge or a plate of fried rice or mixed fruit platter. A home cooked dish - Indon style !

2) Commuter train ride (1hr) from Cikini station > Bogor station - IDR6,000 one way (1 hr)

3) Arrival at the Bogor train station

4) Minivan ride from Bogor train station to Royal Botanical Garden (2km) - IDR5,000 one way - green green all the way !

5) Green Green Bogor - the Royal Botanical Garden of Bandung - entrance fee for locals IDP15,000; foreigners IDP25,000

6) My lunch in Royal Botanical Garden - fried meehoon IDR15.000 (Rm4.60)

7) Commuter train ride from Bogor train station > Cikini train station (1 hr, IDR6,000 x 2 return)

Late afternoon visit from Six Degrees hostel to Ancol Dreamland (3.30-6.30pm)

1) TransJakarta busway ride from Kramat Sentiong bus shelter (15 mins walk from our hostel) to Ancol bus terminal (IDR10,000 x 2 return)

2) Entrance fee to Ancol Dreamland - IDR25,000 includes free internal shuttle bus services - north & south routes (last bus is 9.00pm) to major resort places and return to Ancol / Transjakarta busway terminal (last bus is 10pm) . I did not have time to enter all the entertainment parks, may be another time in the near future !

3) Ancol Dreamland (552 hectares) - also known as the Ancol Jakarta Bay City, a resort located along Jakarta waterfront. The theme park has a number of recreation & entertainment parks, hotels, café & restaurants, beaches, a golf field etc. You probably need a full day if you want to enter all the recreation / entertainment parks in this resort. The popular ones are the Lagoon, Fantasy World, Atlantis Water Adventure, Ocean Dream Samudra, SeaWorld Ancol, Pasar Seni, Ocean Eco Park (each entry requires entrance fees) etc.

My dinner at a side street food stall next to a overhead pedestrian bridge near the Kramat Sentiong busway station - IDR18,000 (Rm5.50) for a plate of fried chicken + rice + cucumber .
