2) Rotorua > Wellington (Bus)

My 2nd Bus Ride departing Rotorua Information Centre > Wellington City, Bunny St near Waterloo Quay, opposite the Railway Station outside McDonald (11.45>17.50) - 451km

The bus made a 25 mins stopover in Lake Taupo.

It was Sunday (Esther week) when I arrived in Rotorua. Lake Rotorua was a hive of activities for the locals & overseas tourists ie the Sunday market & family day activities, tourists queuing up for geothermal dining cruises, helicopter rides to nearby volcanic islands, the high speed jet boat rides or an evening stroll in the nearby Government Gardens & museum areas.

There are a number of day tour programs in and around Rotorua for tourists to select ie Hobbiton Movie Set, Maori cultural performances, Agrodome Farm show, Te Puia geothermal valley, The Redwoods Forest, Rotorua Duck tours, Hell's Gate etc . So there are plenty to see & feel the spirit when in Rotorua !

As I had only 1 1/2 days in Rotorua, I skipped signing up the day tours and devoted my time jay walking in and around Rotorua town (within 2-3 km radius) and that was the best of Rotorua I had seen on this short stay !
