Day 6 Thursday May 17 2023 Semarang, Java - my 3rd & final day in Semarang before leaving for Yogyakarta this afternoon, spent my early morning in Semarang Chinatown just to get a feel of the place & visiting the traditional morning market & 4 Chinese temples along the Gang Lombok street. 

1) Pecinan Chinatown, Semarang Town Centre, Java - took a Grab (10,000Rp = Rm3.30) nearby our hotel for an interesting visit to the Chinatown area, enjoyed a local Chinatown breakfast, a slow walk to riverside Gang Lombok, street food noodles stalls, Gang Baru traditional market, Chinese temples & a bite of local fried spring roll etc 


2) Enjoying my morning breakfast (nasi ayam) at a roadside food stall frequented by local Chinese in Chinatown, Semarang.

3) Traditional Market near Chinatown Semarang, Java, busy in the morning, selling pork, chicken, fresh fish & seafood, fresh produce fruit & vegetables, local delicacies & groceries etc. 

4) A Chinese Temple (Sau Fook Tong), Gang Lombok, Semarang, Java - this street has a number of Chinese temples to serve the local Chinese community, located close to Semarang Chinatown.

6) A Chinese Temple (Tung Pik Bio), Gang Lombak, Semarang, Java

7) Pujasera Tay Kak Sie Temple, Gang Lombok Semarang - one of the well known Chinese temples by the riverside, a place of worship for Semarang Chinese community since the mid-18th century !  


8) Loenpia Semarang, Gang Lombok No 11, Semarang, Java -  famous for their fried spring rolls (20,000Rp = Rm6.50) per piece, bought a takeaway pack as a quick snack before heading back to our hotel !
