" My Staycation No 12 (Transition to Endemic Phase) free & easy visit together with my brother's Hong family (Jennifer, Wendy & Bryan) to Lalaport Bukit Bintang Centre, Kuala Lumpur on Monday June 20 2022 (08.30 > 15.30), travelling by Rapid KL LRT & MRT trains from Subang Jaya, my 45th outdoor trips after a National Lockdown (Movement Control Order / Emergency) imposed by the Malaysian Government on May 6 2021 due to a spike in Covid-19 cases; a National Vaccination campaign is currently being implemented by the Malaysian Government (Phase 1 started in Feb 2021), as at Feb 5 2022, a total of 22.9 million individuals or 97.9% of the adult population in Malaysia have completed their Covid-19 vaccinations; Malaysia is now under the Transition to Endemic Phase starting from April 1 2022, an exit strategy that could allow Malaysians to return to near-normal life after nearly over 2 years of battling the pandemic "

Monday June 20 2022 - My brother Hong's family from Singapore is currently on holiday in Kuala Lumpur for a week. Together with my wife & using Monorel & MRT / LRT trains, our group was able to visit 2 touristy places today ie Lalaport Bukit Bintang Centre (a new lifestyle Japanese shopping mall) & Kajang Town (to savour the famous Kajang satay), both places were 1st time visit for my brother Hong's family & my wife ! A beautiful Monday for the group ! 

Tomorrow, our group will be heading to Port Klang to visit Pulau Ketam (Crab Island) by KTM trains.  

Malaysian Government has declared a month long free train rides in Klang Valley for all travelling on MRT, LRT, BRT, Monorail, Rapid KL buses & KTM trains from June 17 > July 17 2022. So just hop in & hop off to a public transport in Klang Valley & enjoy the rides ! 

1st stop - Bukit Bintang City Centre, Kuala Lumpur 

1) Meet up with my brother Hong's family in Hotel Aloft Kuala Sentral, Jalan Stesen Sentral, Kuala Lumpur. 


2) Monorel train ride from KL Sentral > Hang Tuah Monorel train station, Kuala Lumpur

4) Arriving in Hang Tuah Monorel station which is linked to Bukit Bintang City Centre, Kuala Lumpur 

5) Entrance gate of the old Pudu Jail (1895) - the site of the Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC) was previously part of the infamous Pudu Jail, the main gates are the only portion of the Pudu Jail that is still standing & maintained !  


6) Lalaport Bukit Bintang Centre, Kuala Lumpur - officially opened on Jan 20 2022, my 2nd visit !

7) Central Rooftop Garden, Level 4, Lalaport Mall & the surrounding & cityscape as viewed from the Rooftop Garden. 


8) Grand Steps, Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC), Kuala Lumpur - colorful glittering lighting, best to visit during the evening !


9) Gourmet Street, Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC), Kuala Lumpur - al fresco dining spots.

2nd Stop - Kajang Town & Kajang Stadium Satay, Selangor 

1) Monorel train ride from Hang Tuah > Bukit Bintang & a Rapid KL MRT train ride from Bukit Bintang > Kajang Stadium & return.

Makan Makan (Eating) in Kajang - Kajang is famous for satay which was introduced to Kajang by a Javanese from Indonesia in 1917 ! Our group's satay lunch (arrived 12.15, opening hour 11.30) in Kajang Stadium Satay (a treat from brother Hong), ordered 50 chicken satay (Rm1.27 =US$0.28 per stick) & 5 mutton satay (Rm2.60 = US$0.58 per stick), 2 sets of Nasi Impit or Ketupat (rice cake) Rm3.50 =US$0.78 x 2 + free curry peanut sauce, very appetising &  filling, yummy yummy taste !
