Here goes my " Small Town " story ...
After a stopover in Kuala Kubu Bharu town & Sungai Selangor Dam, our group continued our driving towards Fraser's Hill, Pahang (39km - 1hr driving)
Weather in Fraser's Hill on Tuesday Jan 28 2020 is around 20c, cool & pleasant ! Everybody smiles with this kind of weather in comparison with the hot & humid climate in Kuala Lumpur & Klang Valley !
1) Sungai Semangkuk Waterfall, Hulu Selangor, located near the main road a few kilometers before reaching The Gap.
2) Fraser's Hill, a mountain village in Pahang bordering Perak; known for its highland rainforest & extensive birdlife; jungle trails & nature paths including Pine Tree Trail & Bishop Trail
The Heritage Trail of Fraser's Hill
- A Scottish pioneer, Louis James Fraser founded Fraser's Hill & set up a tin ore trading post in 1890, prospecting for gold & other metals as well
- After Fraser's disapearance 25 years later and in 1917, a Bishop of Singapore led a trek up to The Gap & set up a hill station which was opened to the public in 1922
- In 1951, during the Malayan Emergency, the British High Commissioner in Malaya, Sir Henry Gurney was killed near Fraser's Hill
- During the 1960s, Fraser' Hill was used as a rest center for the British forces based in Malaya & Singapore
- In the 70s, more buildings & golf courses were built in Fraser's Hill
3) The Gap Road, Fraser's Hill, Pahang - the drive from The Gap to Fraser's Hill takes 20 minutes (8km winding single track road up & another alternative single track road down)
4) Selamat Datang Ke Bukit Fraser (Welcome to Fraser's Hill)
5) Fraser's Hill is located at a border of Selangor & Pahang States; there are two red demarcation lines marking clearly the border line !
6) Kheng Yuen Lee Eating Shop - an old established Hainanese coffee shop serving local food / drinks / meals (chicken or lamb chop) for light refreshments / lunch / dinner
7) The Police Depot in Fraser's Hill is currently housed in an old building dated 1919 !

15) Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) in Fraser's Hill - free & easy, very refreshing, the hill station is small so take your time to admire the surrounding environment & breathe more fresh & clean air !

19) After almost 2 hours in Fraser's Hill station, its time to head home. Country road takes me home to the place I belong ! Bye Bye, Fraser's Hill - I shall return one fine day !
