China (Dali, Yunnan) Nov 2019 Part 3

Day 4 Wednesday 6 Nov 2019 - focusing our visit to Xizhou Ancient Town & Baizhu Tea Dance Performance

1) Breakfast at Regent hotel, Dali - my wife had stomach upset, vomiting & symptom of high altitude sickness yesterday afternoon. But after a well earned rest at the hotel, she recovered remarkably well this morning and was able to join me for a breakfast and look forward to visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang ! What a relief for me & our Tour Leader & local tour guide; in a worst case scenerio, if her condition worsens, she may have to admit to a local hospital for treatment !

2) Three Pagoda (as viewed from the bus's windows), Dali, Yunnan - 3 independent pagodas built on the corners of an equilateral triangle !

3) Xizhou Ancient Town, Yunnan - the town consists of 13 small villages with a combined population at 2,500, mostly consisting of Bai people with a small population of Hui & Han residents. Our tour group had the opportunity to visit a well preserved Baizhu stylish mansion, courtyard cum museum decorated with stunning wood carvings & old antique furniture, colorful paintings, marble ornaments & elaborate stone inscriptions !

4) Baizu Tea Dance Performance, Xizhou, Yunnan - while watching the tea dance show, tourists were served with 3 courses tea (specialized traditional tea) described as "first bitter, second sweet & third tasty"

5) Nearby Baizhu Mansions, residences & embroidery stall selling Baizhu handmade batik & religious embroidered artworks / paintings in Xizhou, Yunnan; one of our tour members bought a piece of the religious embroidery art for CNY300 (Rm180) !
