The Wuyishan train arrived in Jiujiang, Jiangxi (the closest train station to Mt Lushan) in the early morning. On arrival, I took a mini bus in front of the train station and boarded a bus from their terminal to Mt Lushan. It was a hilly ride and the journey took about 1 hour.

At the Mt Lushan entrance, I left my luggage at a local sundry store and paid CNY5 for a temporary storage.

From 11.00 to 16.00, I used the internal bus to visit the various scenic spots in Mt Lushan. I had originally booked to stay for 2 nights at the Lu Mountain Nature International Youth Hostel (CNY35 dorm) but due to the inconvenience, I decided to check into a hostel nearby the Jiujiang train station. The room tariff in most family run hostels near train station ranges from CNY 30 - 50 for a standard room equipped with a TV, water heater and air-conditioner.

Like our Cameron or Genting Highlands, it will be very refreshing for tourists or visitors to stay overnight in Lushan - a real holiday resort to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life.

" Mt Lushan, Jiangxi was formerly a hill station established by the British in the late 19th century. It can be easily visited as a day trip from Jiujiang. You can choose to stay overnight at the Guling village as there are many hostels and holiday resort hotels there. A great place to unwind and enjoy the misty & cool mountain air ....
