Due to a revised travel itinerary announced by our China tour guide upon our arrival in Guangzhou, our group's 2 day's visit to Yangshuo had to be re-scheduled. So our Day 3 travel itinerary had moved to Day 6 instead. All the tour sites were visited despite a change of travel itinerary for this leg of travel.

Day 6 Tuesday Oct 31 2023 Part 2 - visits to Fragrance Rice Field,  Qiqiushushu Old Village, Gaotian Town, Yangshou, singing & dancing around a bonfire & a free & easy evening visit to West Street, Yangshuo, Guangxi. 

1) Qiqiushushu Old Village, Gaotian Town, Yangshuo - the start of our group's side-car ride to  Qiqiushushu Old Village in Gaotian Town (approx 10km), Yangshuo to view the scenic golden fragrance rice fields - need some skill to handle this side-car, suggest not to take on the ride as accidents could easily occur along the main trunk road (narrow & heavy vehicles speeding etc) from the depot to the old village (10km stretch), not sure whether the driver or passengers are insured in case of accidents due to unforeseen circumstances !  My brother who was the driver & me as a passenger had a minor incident when my brother tried to steer the vehicle to the far right (to give way to a bus from behind) & got tilted & stuck in a drain which required two of our tour members to lift up the vehicle & restart the vehicle ! Thanks god the vehicle did not turn turtle, otherwise both of us could be injured ! 

2) Downstream Yulong River & countryside landscape, Qiqiushushu Old Village, Gaotian Town, Yangshuo, Guangxi - stunning scenery !

5) Golden Fragrance Rice Fields, Qiqiushushu Old Village, Gaotian Town- a sunny day in the late afternoon,  very scenic & picturesque, sculptures of dragon & buffalo made of paddy straws / rattans standing tall in the middle of a golden fragrance rice paddy field - an ideal Instagram spot ! 

6) Side-car ride back to the depot after almost two hours of golden paddy field scenic area visit 

7) Minority Ethnic Bonfire Party, Gaotina Town, Yangshuo - singing & dancing around a bonfire - both my brother & myself together with our tour members participated in this evening bonfire party after a delicious dinner in a restaurant who organised the bonfire party for all diners ! 

8) West Street, Yangshuo, Guangxi, China - crowded even during the weekday, nice ambience, this famous street has now become so vibrant that I could hardly recognise this street as my last visit to West Street was in 2005 !
