Malaysia (Pre Covid 19 - Reminisce My Good Old Days - UNESCO World Heritage Sites in China & I) - July 2021

 


The world currently has 1,154 UNESCO World Heritage Sites (as at July 2021); 897 are cultural, 218 natural & 39 mixed (cultural & natural). The top 10 countries & the number of properties in each of these countries are:

China currently has 56 UNESCO World Heritage Sties (as at July 2021), ranked No 2 in the world after Italy which has 58 properties. 38 of the World Heritage sites in China are under the cultural category, 14 are natural & 4 are mixed (cultural / natural). To date, after 2 decades (1997>2019) of 20 intermittent visits to China, I had thus far visited a total of 38 UNESCO World Heritage sites - a great outcome & score for a passionate traveler !
