Malaysia (Covid-19 & My Staycation No 28 - Pre-Chinese New Year Visit to Sungai Way, Selangor) Feb 8 2021

" My Staycation & Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) free & easy day trip with my wife to Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya, Selangor on Monday Feb 8 2021 (12.00 > 13.30) travelling by own vehicle from SS17, Subang Jaya > Sungai Way; my 28th outdoor trip after the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) since March 2020; my last visit to Sungai Way was in Jan 2020 during the Day 2 of the Chinese New Year "  

Travel itinerary: SS17, Subang Jaya > Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya (7.5km; SOP for MCO 2.0 limits travelling to a 10km radius within a district

Sungai Way, Selangor -  a suburb of Petaling Jaya, Selangor, established in 1949 during the British colonial days as a Chinese new village, after independence in 1957, the village has become a populated place & its surroundings had established new industrial zone & the opening of Federal Highway linking to Kuala Lumpur city & Klang town

My takeaway food for lunch today (char siew barbecue pork with rice Rm8=US$1.95) & breakfast for tomorrow (hand-made char siew pau or barbecue pork bun Rm2.20=US$0.53 each & vegetable pau Rm1.80 each) bought from The Home Cooking Dishes eatery stall in Sungai Way, Selangor (address No 555, SS9A/2)

Chinese New Year goodies ie mushrooms, canned abalone, cookies, pork sausages, canned drinks, mandarin oranges, edible nuts, nian gao (sticky year cake), barbecue meat (bak kwa), fresh flowers, prayer cakes etc bought by my family members from nearby grocery stores & supermarkets for re-union dinner, CNY & praying; Chinese Lunar New Year of the Ox falls on Feb 12 & 13 2021 which has been declared a public holiday, an important cultural & festive occasion in Malaysia !



Last minute CNY shopping (06.30) for fresh produce, chicken, pork, fish & CNY goodies in wet & morning markets near my home place in Subang Jaya (Wednesday Feb 10 2021 - 2 days countdown to Chinese New Year )

In a hurry, I wore a wrong pair of sandal roaming the morning markets in
SS15 & SS19, Subang Jaya - what a day !
