Malaysia (Covid-19 & My Staycation No 7 - Kuala Selangor & Sekinchan, Selangor) July 26 2020 Part 2

After our visit to Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park & Kuala Selangor, our next destination is Sekinchan - the rice bowl of Selangor ! 

1) Skinchan town & village, Selangor - a small town in the west coast of peninsula Malaysia 


2) Our group's lunch in a coffee shop / restaurant in Sekinchan town, Selangor - each bowl of noodle soup (loh mee, mi hoon & kway teow) costs Rm5, curry laksa noodle is Rm6 (US$1.40) & glutinous rice mixed with shredded carrots & fish paste wrapped in banana leaf is Rm2.50 


3) Padi fields of Sekinchan, Selangor - the rice bowl of Selangor, best time to visit is March / April (until mid May) & Sept / Oct if you want to see golden paddy fields 



4) Ah Ma House, Pekan Sekinchan, Selangor - selling local prepacked food ie biscuits, snacks, tea, prawn crackers etc, the shop has a great display of oldies stuff (collectibles & memorabilia) used in the daily life of a typical household during the pre-war years (my grandpa & grandma times) !  




5) Kampung Atuk, Pekan Sekinchan, Selangor 



6) Paddy Gallery, Sekinchan, Selangor - entrance fee to Paddy Gallery rice factory visit is Rm5 (featuring exhibits on traditional harvesting & processing of rice), bought home a pack of Juara Mutiara pearl rice (5 kilos Rm13) 


7) Nam Tien Kong (Nine Emperor Gods) Temple, Sekinchan (1984)


8) Bird houses, Skinchan, Selangor - specifically constructed in the middle of the paddy field for the swiftlets to build their nests to produce bird nests food which contain many health benefits 


9) Tian Fu Gong Temple (1940), Sekinchan, Selangor 



10) Xian Fa Shi Gong Temple (1963), Sekinchan, Selangor 


11) Pantai Redang Beach, Sekinchan, Selangor - a favourite spot for tourists & family outing, usually packed during the weekends & public holidays, enjoy sea breeze, nearby an old Chinese temple, a Wishing tree, fishermen's stilt houses, food & fresh coconut stalls etc 



11) Sungai Labu Fishermen Jetty, Sekinchan, Selangor 


12) Roadside fruit stall, Sekinchan, Selangor - our group bought home some mangoes & yam !
