Countryside scenery along Genting Highlands / Karak highway (07.15 > 08.00) before arriving Bentong town - fresh cool mountain air, misty, gloomy weather (due to south-west monsoon) & slight drizzle in the early morning ! This year's monsoon season was weaker, which led to more rain in May & June compared to previous year. The south-west monsoon started on May 18 & expect to last till September ! So carry a small umbrella with you if you are planning any outstation trips during this monsoon period ! The wettest month is November when Malaysia experiences the north-east monsoon season, flash flood may occur especially in the low lying areas ! March & April are the hottest months in Malaysia with the highest temperature (33C) !

1) Bentong Town, Pahang - located in western Pahang, also a gateway to the East Coast states by road & bordering Selangor state on the west & Negri Sembilan in the south, Bentong district includes the hill resorts of Genting Highlands & Bukit Tinggi; due to close proximity to Kuala Lumpur, many day trippers come to Bentong for sightseeing & food etc

Bentong Walk (Cultural Street), Pahang

Bentong Ginger - retailed at Rm8-Rm18 per kilo; Bentong is famous for producing high quality ginger (mainly in Janda Baik & Bukit Tinggi area) hence can be called a "ginger" town; tourists commonly buy home a few kilos of Bentong ginger & other processed ginger eg ginger powder which has many health benefits  !

Gourmet Food Street (near Bentong Wet Market), Bentong, Pahang - selling tau fu pok, tau fu fah, ice desserts & wan tan mee, yong tau fu, Bentong ginger, ginger powder, kopitiam (coffee shops) serving herbal drinks etc; packed with people especially day trippers from Kuala Lumpur & nearby towns during the weekend !

Pasar Besar (Wet Market), Bentong, Pahang - bought 4 packets of Tau Fu Pok (Rm4.50 per pack) from a food stall in the wet market; The wet market does not operate on Monday !

Our group's breakfast at a coffee shop / noodle / chicken rice stall  near the Bentong wet market - wan tan noodle (Rm5) + a side dish of roasted pork (Rm15) ordered from the chicken rice stall; our group waited for more than 30 minutes for the wan tan noodles to be served so be patient especially if you are eating in any of the restaurants nearby the wet market during any of the Sunday weekend !
