Go Dutch - Heritage Trail, Jakarta, Indonesia (visited 2017) - Downtown Jakarta was called Batavia, the old capital of the Dutch East India Co and became a Dutch colony in 1619; Batavia was used as a trading network in Asia by the Dutch which had monopolies on nutmeg, black pepper, cloves & cinnamon & other cash crops like coffee, tea, cacao, tobacco, rubber, sugar & opium. The Dutch rule Batavia for 320 years until the invasion of Japanese in 1942 during the 2nd World War.

Go Portuguese, Dutch & British - Heritage Trail, Galle, Sri Lanka (2013) - Galle is known for its Galle Fort, built by the Portuguese in the 16th century; the sea wall was expanded by the Dutch; the old buildings in Galle reflecting Portuguese, Dutch & British architecture.

Go Portuguese - Heritage Trail, Macao, China (2013) - Macao was under 400 hundred years of rule by the Portuguese; China claimed sovereignty of Macao on 20 Dec 1999.
