Day Tour to Chiang Rai / Golden Triangle (700bht pp)
I did a similar Chiang Rai & Golden Triangle day tour (700bht) from Chiang Mai in Jan 2015. For this year, our hostel quoted a price of 1,000bht for this day tour but I was able to negotiate, given that we had 4 people signing up, to 700bht per pax. Our small group tour had 9 adults & 3 children plus a tour guide & a driver.
Due the the long distance & lack of public transport in the Golden Triangle area, joining a day tour from Chiang Mai is probably the best option.
1) Hot Spring, Thaweesin, Chiang Rai
This 11-12 hr mini van tour took us to 5 tourist attractions in Chiang Rai & the northern most area of Thailand ie a Hot Spring, White Temple, Long Neck Keren Hill Tribe, Mae Sai border post & the Golden Triangle. A buffet lunch was included.
Due the the long distance & lack of public transport in the Golden Triangle area, joining a day tour from Chiang Mai is probably the best option.

2) Wat Rong Khun (White Temple), Chiang Rai
3) Long Neck Karen Hill Tribe, Mae Sai
4) Mae Sai Boundary Post / Custom House
5) Golden Triangle, Chiang Sean
