China (Huizhou, Guangdong) Dec 2014

Map of Huizhou, Guangdong

Total cost incurred (2 days) : CNY214 per pax
Hotel (1 night): CNY208 (Veee Hotel - twin bed)
Food: CNY38
Transport (bus); CNY64 (Huizhou & gt; Guangzhou)
Taxi: CNY8

I made a stopover and stayed for a night in Huizhou before heading back to Guangzhou for our flight back to Malaysia. Huizhou is about 2 hrs by bus from Guangzhou and is also connected by high speed trains to Shenzhen & Xiamen.

In Hangzhou & Yangzhou, you have the famous West Lake. I had visited the Hangzhou West lake twice and after visiting the Huizhou West lake, I am equally impressed. The Huizhou West Lake is 3.2 sq mile in area and has 5 lakes, 6 bridges & 10 interesting spots for tourists to wander around. The Sizhou Pagoda, built during the Tang dynasty is also in the vicinity of the Lake.

In Sept 2010, I visited the famous West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. I have not been to Yangzhou but my dream of seeing the West Lake in Yangzhou, Jiangsu hopefully would be fulfilled soon !

I stayed in Weee Hotel (CNY208 for a twin bed) which is located right in front of the main entrance of the West Lake. The hotel is also located next to the Huizhou walking street & the Zio Si wet market - so convenient ! A taxi ride from the Huizhou main bus station to the hotel costs around CNY7-8 (10 mins). My wife bought a kati of small dried mushrooms (CNY70 per kati) from the wet market - the mushrooms smell good anyway !!!
