This is my 2nd visit to Chaozhou. From Guangzhou to Chaozhou, the bus ride took 7 hrs. So it made sense for us to stay a night at Chaozhou and also this was my wife's first visit to Chaozhou. Chaozhou is about 1 hr by bus to Shantou.
We spent the late afternoon visiting the old Chaozhou town center near the Kaiyuan Temple & a few touristy places along the Hubin road ie Xiangzi bridge and took an evening walk to the old town for a bowl of hot Teow Chew century & duck egg porridge !
The hotel (Home Inn) we stayed at Kaiyuan road junction is within walking distance from Kaiyuan Temple & old Chaozhou town center.
