Day 2 Monday July 24 2023 Part 3 (continued) - focussing our group's visit to Wat Mala Prachasan, Chatharattanaram Monastery, Wat Phuttha Thiwat, Betong Mongkollit Tunnel, Big Chicken Statutes, Sud Siam Park / Stainless Steel Monument & Betong City Museum & Downtown Betong; a long day indeed but well worth the efforts ! 

1) Wat Mala Prachasan, Ban Mala, Tambon Tanoh Maeroh, Betong

2) Chatharattanaram Monastery, Yaron, Betong District, Yala, Thailand - very impressed with the fine wooden sculptures of numerous god, goddess & deities (in standing & sitting positions) in display for worshipping in the monastery ! 

3) Wat Phuttha Thiwat, Betong

4) Betong Mongkollit Tunnel & the surrounding

6) Sud Siam Park, Betong

7) Betong City Museum

8) Stainless Steel Monument - an iconic landmark located next to Betong City Museum in Sud Siam Park hill. 

9) A panoramic view of Betong Town from Sud Siam Park hill. 

10) Our group's lunch & dessert in a local restaurant in downtown Betong - savoured Thai's style kwai teow / mi hoon soup with pork / pork offal / chicken wing @50bht (Rm6.75) & 4 bowls of dessert / tong sui totalled 105bht (Rm14).

11) Walkabout & stray walking in Downtown Betong after our groups' lunch / dessert meal - just walk & walk, see & see trying my best to explore Betong town in a greater depth ! 

12) Betong Street Art visit accompanied by my brother Weng. 

13) Our groups' dinner in Baiyok Restaurant, Betong - savoured 4 Thai-style tai chow dishes ie seafood tom yan (400bht = Rm54), steamed black soya white chicken (150bht = Rm20), sambal petai / prawns (150bht = Rm20) & sir fried baku vegetable (90bht = Rm12) totalled 890bht = Rm120, food served here were authentic Thai & tasty to eat !

14) Betong town by night - weather is cool in the evening so very ideal for a small walk around the town !
