Malaysia (Covid 19 - Transition to Endemic Phase - My 6 Days Cuti Cuti Malaysia & Staycation No 26 to Endau Rompin, Mersing, Pulau Tioman, Desaru & Kluang, Johor) Thursday Aug 18 2022 Day 5


Thursday Aug 18 2022 Day 5 (Morning) - after a Pakistani food breakfast, our group visited a few touristy places in Desaru ie Lotus Desaru Beach Resort, Hard Rock Hotel, Desaru Coast Terminal Pier, Pantai Batu Layar & a public beach in Desaru Coast. After our homestay check out at 11.30, our group made a brief visit to the Desaru Fruit Farm before heading to our next destination ie Kluang for our final night stay in Johor before heading home.

1) Evening drive (after dinner) towards Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal ! The terminal was closed to the public at night but our group made a re-visit in the following morning !

3) Desaru Coast Terminal Pier, Johor - for foot passengers only, one way ticket is S$70 & two way is S$118, Singapore Tanah Merah departure to Desaru is 08.30 & return to Singapore is 15.30. 


4) Pantai Batu Layar, Desaru Coast, Johor - been there done that ! 


5) A public beach in Desaru Coast, Johor


6) Desaru Fruit Farm, Johor - offer jeep riding tour + lunch + fruit fiesta, pick a combo or tour package to suite your interest !  


Thursday Aug 18 2022 Day 5 - at around 11.30 & after the homestay apartment check out, our group's next destination is Kluang, approx 140km from Taman Desaru Utama, takes 2 hrs by car to arrive !

1) Kluang Rail Coffee, Jalan Station, Kluang - famous for their hot coffee & roti keping (toasted bread with butter & kaya), ordered Johor Laksa, bun bread & hot coffee Rm50.60 (US$11.25) for our group's brunch in this oldest railway kopitiam in Malaysia !

2) Saint Louis Church, Jalan Omar, Kampung Masjid Lama, Kluang - built in 1928, a Roman Catholic church, unique architecture.

4) Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) - Kluang Mall, Kluang Parade & the surrounding - evening stroll in Kluang town centre & window shopping in Kluang Mall & Kluang Parade after a dinner !

Makan Makan (Eating) - our group's lunch ie Pakistani nan & puri + hot drinks (Rm26 = US$5.80) in MK Swat Jalal, a Pakistan Muslim restaurant, Bandar Penawar, Kota Tinggi, Johor, my first time eating Pakistani nan cheese & puri in my home country, Malaysia !

Makan Makan (Eating) - our group's dinner in Restoran Lock Yuen, Kluang, Johor; ordered 4 Chinese tai chow dishes + Rice + a pot of hot Chinese tea (Rm80.80 = US$18), the best Chinese tai chow our group had eaten in this Johor trip thus far !

6) Makan Makan (Eating) - product tasting of  2 Shanghai mooncakes (Rm24, 1 white & 1 Black lotus flavour) our group bought from Kedai Kek Yu Kong Moon Cake this afternoon, at our hotel lobby after an evening walkabout in Kluang town ! 


Hotel accommodation - our group overnight stay in Hotel Setia, Jalan Setia Indah, Kluang, Rm144 (US$32) for a triple bed room @ Rm48 (US$10.70) per pax
