Simpang Renggam, Johor - also known as Sisi Khoo is a town in Kluang District, Johor, now under the administration of Simpang Renggam District Council which consists of 5 local councils ie Rengam, Simpangan Rengam, Machap, Layang Layang & Sungai Sayong; the history of the City of Renggam is recorded in the British Museum in UK ie it has received visits Queen Elizabeth 11 & Queen Victoria in the 1950s, as the main settlement at that time, it has been the focus of the British Colonial who owned large farms such as Guthrie Farm, Ulu Remis Farm etc. 

1) Aw Pottery Sdn Bhd, Jalan Kampong Machap, Simpang Renggam, Johor - founded by the late Mr Aw Eng-Kwang in late 1940, a famous potter & sculptor, some of its works are featured in Singapore National Gallery, National Museum & international hotels in Singapore & Malaysia.

Ayer Hitam, Johor - nicknamed Bandar Seramik (Ceramic), is a town in Batu Pahat District, Johor, located just at the junction of Federal Route & one of the interchange for North-South Highway; known for its many outlets selling pottery & other crafts. 


1) Arena Warna, Jalan Bandar Baru Ayer Hitam, Johor - a bazar market. 

2) Sawah Sagil, Ayer Hitam, Johor - a unique place, the origin of this paddy field was from migration of Kedah people who came here in the 1970s ! Need to use your mobile phone GPS or Waze to guide you to drive to this remote place in the midst of a large oil palm plantation area, the roads were narrow but well tarred ! 


3) Tropical Village, Ayer Hitam, Johor - a mini world theme park, temporarily closed due to Covid-19 !  


4) Putu Bambu Juriah, Ayer Hitam, Johor - made of rice flour flavoured with pandan leaves, gula Melaka & eaten with grated coconut, the rice flour & gula Melaka (palm sugar) are packed into a short bamboo stem & cooked by steaming, bought a pack (6 pieces) Rm4.50 & eaten as a snack in the car !

5) Makan Makan (Small Eat) - our group's breakfast (Final Day 3) in a coffee shop in Ayer Hitam before heading for a visit to Melaka.
