Malaysia (Covid-19 & My Staycation No 36 - KL Forest Eco Park & Kwai Chai Hong, Kuala Lumpur) Saturday April 3 2021 Part 2

Kuala Lumpur City Center, Malaysia

Historic Triangle, City Center, Kuala Lumpur

City Center, Kuala Lumpur - Old Charm, KL Heritage, Cultural & Nature Trail, Colonial shop houses dating back to 1888, River of Life, Chinatown, Kasturi Walk, Central Market, Lat's cartoon series of sculptures, Klang River, Canopy Walk in KL Forest Eco Park, Kwai Chai Hong, Jalan Tun H S Lee & Jalan Sultan, Nanyang Cafes, Dataran Merdeka, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, old KL Railway Station, Lake Garden, KL Bird Park, Murals & Street Art, The New Skyscraper Center ie Merdeka PNB118 in the making ... ; these popular touristy places are all within walking distance from Pasar Seni LRT station eg Pasar Seni LRT station to Kwai Chai Hong, Lorong Panggung is approx 470m (5mins walk) or using GO KL shuttle bus services starting from Pasar Tani bus terminal to Bukit Bintang to explore KL or nearby places in greater depth ....

11) Kwai Chai Hong, Lorong Panggung, Kuala Lumpur - in Cantonese dialect, Kwai Chai Hong literally means "Ghost Lane" or "Little Demon Alley", a neglected lane once filled with gamblers & drug addicts, the alley is now restored in Chinatown area as a tourist attraction; the Lady sculpture (using over hundred pieces of broken porcelain bowls to make this lady figure) & banners installation at Kwai Chai Hong pays tribute to the "Wan Shou Wu Jiang" porcelain design !

12) Petaling Street Market (Chee Cheong Kai, Chinatown), Kuala Lumpur - a bustling & popular place for tourists to haggle for anythings from food to clothing, a great place to show off your haggling skills to get the best bargain for any items you favour to buy !

13) Maybank Tower (1987), Pudu, Kuala Lumpur

14) Colorful hanging umbrellas in backlane, off Jalan Tun H S Lee, Kuala Lumpur

15) Street Art, City Center, Kuala Lumpur - KL walls come alive !

16) Lat's cartoon series of sculpture in Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Gereja & Jalan Melaka, Kuala Lumpur

17) Kasturi Walk, Jalan Hang Kasturi, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur

18) Jalan Tun H S Lee, Kuala Lumpur - formerly known as High Street, this 1.8km long street was once upon a time an important commercial district in Kuala Lumpur, a number of the pre-war shophouses have been refurbished & a few operating as cafes & backpacker's hostels ! While you are in old High Street, keep your spirit high & enjoy a cup of Expresso or local Hainanese coffee to pass your wonderful time here ....

19) Cityscape in City Center, Kuala Lumpur - a mixed of new & old buildings including sky scrappers ! Migrant workers like to loiter the city center near the touristy places especially during the Sunday weekends & public holidays !

Another great Saturday weekend for me after visiting the KL Forest Eco Park, Museum & Canopy Walk, St John Institution, St Andrew Church, Convent Bukit Nanas, Telekom Museum, Kwai Chai Hong, Petaling Street (Chinatown), Kasturi Walk, Jalan Tun H S Lee & City Center, Kuala Lumpur (these touristy places have a mix of colonial heritage, cultural & nature traits for tourists to appreciate & admire) ! After approx 4km of morning walking tour (to & fro), it is time to go home & enjoy a home cooked lunch in the comfort of my home sweet home ! Looking forward to more weekend visits in April & beyond !
