Saturday April 24 2021 - lunch with brother Weng's family (wife + 2 daughters), sisters Inn, Peng & Mei + my wife in Xfrens Cafe & Restaurant, Jalan SS18/1B, Subang Jaya, Selangor after offering our prayer (49 days mourning after death) to my recently deceased brother Kheong in Kwong Tong Memorial, Kuala Lumpur; 8 assorted dishes Rm201 (US$48) + 1 pot of Chinese tea inclusive of service tax (a table of 8, a treat from sister Mei)

Monday April 19 2021 - Eating & shopping with my wife in Sunway Pyramid Mall, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, Selangor (approx 3km from my home place) 

1) My Little Shopping Pleasures - Sunway Pyramid Mall, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, Selangor - walkabout & shopping for bed sheet covers & egg frying pan during the Ramadan (Muslims fasting month) ! 









2) Savouring a small bowl of warm Chinese herbal tea drink (RM2) in Kook Woh Tong stall, Sunway Pyramid 


3) Marrakesh (Moroccan Theme), Sunway Pyramid Mall, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya



4) Ramadan & Hari Raya (Malay New Year) festive season decor in Sunway Pyramid, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya



5) Aeon (Japanese) Supermarket & Department Store, Sunway Pyramid, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya

Saturday April 17 2021 - morning breakfast with my ex-colleagues (Goh, Lisa & Siew Yoke Mei) in Restoran Hari Hari Datang, Persiaran Ampang + a short drive & visit to Tamarind Springs Restaurant, Kelab Darul Eshan & The Peak residential area (a big thank you to Goh & Lisa for driving me to these places) 

My Rapid KL LRT train ride from SS15, Subang Jaya > Masjid Jamek (transit) > Ampang station + cityscape as viewed from the train windows



1) Tamarind Springs Restaurant, Taman Tun Razak, Ampang, Selangor - a down the memory lane visit (last visit was 20 years ago to attend a farewell dinner for one of my ex-Australian colleague), specialises in serving Indo-Chinese cuisine, nice ambience surrounded by forest & lush greeneries 



2) Kelab Darul Eshan, Taman Tun Abdul Razak, Ampang, Selangor - a 9 hole golf course & a recreation club, sits on the boundary of Kuala Lumpur & state of Selangor, close to nature not far from Kuala Lumpur city ! 


3) The Peak, Off Jalan Sultan, Taman Tun Abdul Razak, Ampang, Selangor - located in Ampang Hilir, an up market residential area 


4) Tasik Ampang Hilir, Kuala Lumpur - a nice place for family jogging 


5) Little Chat Pleasures - morning breakfast & chat with my ex-colleagues (Goh, Lisa & Siew Yoke Mei) in Restoran Hari Hari Datang, Persiaran Ampang, Kuala Lumpur; a treat from Goh, Lisa & Siew Yoke Mei; a chat time on our daily life under the New Normal & our Good Old Days + simple food & small life pleasures !



Thursday April 15 2021 - lunch with my Klang travel buddies (Chim, Wong & Hui) in Restoran Soon Tong, Klang & a stopover visit to Persatuan Hokkien Klang (Klang Hokkien Association) + an interesting visit to Chim & Hui's garden farm in Bukit Kemuning, Klang + a point therapy massage to treat mild shingles on my left arm performed by my travel buddy, Wong 

1) Klang Hokkien Association, Jalan Batu Lama, Kawasan 16, Klang 



2) Yeoh's Bah Kut Teh, behind the Klang Hokkien Association - KIV (keep in view) if you feel like eating Bah Kut Teh here instead of of your favourite stall in old Klang town or my home place, Subang Jaya ! 



3) Gurdwara Sahib Klang, Jalan Bukit Jawa, Klang - built in 1995 by the Sikh community in Klang


4) Wesley Methodist Church, Jalan Bukit Jawa, Klang - established in 1908 by 15 Tamil Methodists


5) Klang Chinese Methodist Church, Jalan Kota Kawasan 1, Klang - founded in 1898 by a British missionary, the existing building was built in 1977


6) Chim & Hui's garden farm in Bukit Kemuning, Klang - a part time hobby learning the ropes of planting papayas, yam, strawberry, pineapples, sweet potato leaves; rearing of fresh water fish & lobsters in fish tanks & keeping a bird nest house to breed & nestling of swiftlet birds; nothing ventured nothing gained, hope this part time hobby can turn into a commercial success for both of them in a not too distant future ! Brought home some sweet potato leaves & 2 papayas for home cooking & dessert ! 



7) Lunch with my Klang travel buddies (Chim, Wong & Hui) in Restoran Soon Tong, Jalan Rengas, Taman Selatan, Klang - 3 dishes (steamed fish - fish contributed by Wong, stir fried vegetables & braised pig trotters & bread rolls + 1 pot of Chinese tea = Rm92 (US$22, a treat from KM)


8) Point therapy massage - both Chim & Wong operates a point therapy massage services in Taman Sentosa, Klang for the last 6-7 years ! Wong has kindly offered to do a point therapy massage for treatment of mild shingles on both my arms after our lunch in Klang. 


Wednesday April 14 2021 - a morning outdoor visit with my wife to NSK Trade City, Kuchai Lama & Taman OUG (Overseas Union Garden), Kuala Lumpur - window shopping & walkabout in Taman OUG + lunch ! A typical New Normal day for retiree like me ... but with face mask on when doing the outing, registrations & temperature checks & observing social distancing etc. Today is the 2nd day of Ramadan (a period of fasting & prayer) for Muslims.

3) Lunch with my wife in Restoran Yang Kee, Taman OUG (Overseas Union Garden), Kuala Lumpur - today is not an April Fool day but an April Food day so a little eating & a little walking for me & my wife .... ordered 2 plates of Hakka minced pork home made noodles + 3 pieces of yong tau foo (tau foo or vegetables stuffed with ground meat mixture) + 1 Chinese tea = Rm20.50 (US$4.89)

Bak Kut Teh Street in SS14/2, Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Selangor - favourite place for Klang style Bak Kut Teh frequented by locals especially in the evening ! All these 7 Bak Kut Teh shops are located in the same row, close to one another so pick your choice ! You can savour this pork rib herbal dish hopping from one stall to another the whole week in SS14, Subang Jaya if indeed you are a Bak Kut Teh lover !  Bak Kut Teh is a pork rib dish cooked in broth infused with herbs such as Dong Quai, cinnamon, star anise & made with pork ribs, dried shitake mushrooms, tofu puffs & garlic popularly served in Malaysia & Singapore where there is a predominant Hokkien & Teochew community.
