Malaysia (Tanah Rata,Cameron Highlands,Pahang) July 2019 D-2


" LIFE is a climb but the view is great " 

Day 2 Wednesday 10th July 2019 - Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands, Pahang

1) Hike to Mt Jasar (5,565ft) organized by our hostel, 25 hikers (including Lam & me) participated & led by the hostel's manager & a staff member; major challenges ie undulating lands, narrow treks, slippery slopes, muddy soils, 5 hours of hiking from hostel to Cameron Tea Valley plantations (5km) .... at 69, I am probably the oldest in the group but I managed to finish the race - a real test of my mental & physical strength ! 


2) Panoramic view of Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands near the peak of Mt Jasar; very scenic, clear blue sky, abundance greeneries, cool fresh mountain air ..... 


3) A short rest (20mins) at the peak of Mt Jasar (5,565ft) before descending .... 


4) Hiking downhill, slow but steady towards the direction of Cameron Tea Valley plantations; tea farms, brinjal & spring onions growing, terraced vegetable farms on hill slopes 


5) Aborigine's (Orang Asli) village, Cameron Highlands


6) Water cress farming, Cameron Highlands


7) Vegetables farming, Cameron Highlands


8) Tea plantations, Cameron Valley
   


9) Tea shops & cafes, Cameron Valley
