Thailand (Bangkok) Aug 2018 (Part 2) D-3


Day 3 - Sunday 5th August 2018, Bangkok - focusing our visit by taking an Orange boat from Saphan Taksin to Wat Arun, Wat Pho, Reclining Buddha, Grand Palace, Yodiman Flower Market, Patpong & Siam Paragon - a solid day indeed to explore the major tourist attractions in Bangkok !

1) Wat Arun - entrance fee 50bht; my 4th visit !


2) Tha Tien Pier, Bangkok - now the wholesale market place for dried & preserved seafood; row of old shophouses converted into souvenir shops & eatery outlets catering mainly for the tourists; within walking distance to Reclining Buddha & Grand Palace !



3) Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), Bangkok - entrance fee 100bht = Rm12.30; built in 1788, one of the oldest temple, home of one thousand Buddha images !



4) Reclining Buddha inside the Wat Pho compound, magnificent & awesome to look at ! A must see !


4) Grand Palace, Bangkok - entrance fee 500bht(Rm62); no short pants, last visit was in 2004; casual walk around the external compounds of the Palace. 


5) Yodpiman Flower Market, Bangkok


6) Yodpiman River Walk, Bangkok


7) Memorial Bridge, Bangkok


8) Free shuttle / orange boat / Chao Phraya cruise from Saphan Taksin Pier - River Front scenery in Bangkok. 


9) Patpong Red Light District 


Day 3 - Makan Makan (Eating) in Bangkok

1) Breakfast at a street food stall near Sam Yan station

Roasted pork & pig offal + rice - 60bht

2) Lunch at a local food stall near Tha Tien Pier


3) Dinner in Siam Paragon Food Hall, Bangkok


Chicken rice - 80bht=Rm9.80
