My 29 days to Southern Xinjiang, Gansu & Shaanxi, China (Aug 27 > Sept 24 2025) Day 27 > 29 Xian, Shaanxi (Part 1)

Day 27 (Monday Sept 22 2025) - after our hotel check-in & a short rest, we took a metro from Yongningmen > Nanshaomen (1 stop) to visit the Xian Museum in the afternoon. In the evening,  I took a leisure stroll  along the river front & Yongningmen ancient wall before retiring for bed !  

1) High speed train ride from Wuwei Dong station (departing 08.10 > Xianbei (Xian  North) station (arriving 13.00, approx 909km), maximum train speed 245km per hr.

2) Suburban, countryside & mountain scenery as viewed from the moving HS train from Wuwei, Gansu > Xi'an, Shaanxi. 

3) Metro train ride (Y4) from Xianbei > Yongningmen (nearby to our hotel area)

4) Hotel Accommodation (2 nights): Yidua Design Art Hotel Apartment, room tariff Rm77 (US$18, twin sharing, King bed but upgraded to 2 large single beds). 

5) Xi'an, Shaanxi - a large city & capital of Shaanxi province in central China, once known as Chang'an (Eternal Peace), it marks the Silk Road's eastern end & was home to Zhou, Qin, Han & Tang dynasties & ruling houses, at archaeological sites in Xi'an surrounding plains are the famed Binmayong (Terra Cotta Army), thousands of the size, hand-moulded figures buried with China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. 

6) Xian Museum, Xian, Shaanxi - located on Youyi West Road, officially opened on May 18 2007 occupying a total area of 160,000 sq meters, the museum's collection includes 130,000 artifacts in which 14,400 that are considered to be national 3rd tier precious artifacts. The complex includes 3 parts, the museum proper, the Tang-era Small Wild Goose Pagoda & Jianfu Temple historic area & the museum garden area. Free admission for seniors above 65+, no reservation required, just present  your passport to ticket counter for issuance of an entry  pass ! Very impressed with the exhibits, large groups of local tourists jam packed the main exhibition halls !

8) Xian City by Night (near Yongningmen Gate), Xian, Shaanxi - my solo evening walk along the river front & Yongningmen ancient wall to get a feel of the city night life & vibes ! 

9) Xi'an SKP Mall (opposite our hotel apartment) - a brief stopover & window shopping ! Premium products on sale in this upmarket mall !
