Malaysia (Covid-19 & My Staycation No 2 - Royal Klang Town, Selangor) June 14 2020

"My Jalan Jalan (walkabout) & Staycation (domestic vacation) in Royal Klang town of Selangor, located about 35km from Kuala Lumpur City Center; by KTM train ride from Subang Jaya > Klang on Sunday June 14 2020 (09.30 > 12.15) & return (2 train rides = US$0.74), my 2nd Staycation in my home country after the lifting of the conditional Movement Control Order (MCO) on June 10 2020 - wearing a face mask & observing social distancing in order to stay vigilant during the recovery MCO; my last visit to Royal Klang town was in Nov 2017 "

Total expenses incurred (2 KTM train rides): Rm1.60 x 2 = Rm3.20 (US$0.74 Senior 50% discount)

" Start everyday with a new HOPE, leave bad MEMORIES behind & have faith for a better
TOMORROW "

Now that the Movement Control Order is lifted on June 10 2020 (including interstate travel restrictions) thus ending the 84 days of movement restrictions in Malaysia, is it time for a local holiday or Cuti Cuti (vacation) in Malaysia ? Maybe at this juncture, I should consider visiting tourist attractions free & easy & at my own pace closer to home ie island beach resorts like Pulai Redang, Pulai Perhentian, Pulau Langkawi, Pulai Tioman, Port Dickson or Batu Ferringhi beach, Penang; re-visiting highland resorts like Cameron, Fraser Hills or Genting Highlands; small town charms & fishing villages like Taiping, Kampar, Bagan Datoh, Tampin, Kuala Pilah, Bahau, Mersing, Gemas, Teluk Intan, Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar, Batu Gajah, Bentong, Raub etc;  exploring Kuala Lumpur city in greater depth ie Setapak hotspring, Zoo Negara, Colonial Walk / Heritage Trail in Melaka & Penang (UNESCO World Heritage sites) - these Cuti Cuti Malaysia visits are more than enough to keep me busy for the next 6 months in 2020 ! A little travelling amid the Covid-19 outbreak, a little initiative, a little planning, a little time management & finally a little walking on country roads & sightseeing & last but not the least, a little story to tell after each visit ! No Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) The World for the time being but I will utilise my time to do Cuti Cuti Malaysia (Staycations) just to keep my passion in travelling alive !

Travel itinerary: Subang Jaya (my home place) > Klang > Subang Jaya (KTM train rides & a walking tour of 2 hours in Royal Klang town)

The start of my 5 minutes morning walk (09.15) from Subang Jaya SS17 (my home place) to Subang Jaya KTM train station for my train ride to Royal Klang town

The start of my KTM train ride from Subang Jaya train station > Klang station - a short & pleasant 20 minutes train ride; due to the Covid-19 outbreak, most people preferred staying at home so the train station was quiet & not many passengers on board the train !

Arriving at the KTM Klang train station (built in 1890) - within walking distance to the Royal Klang down town & various tourist sites !

Tourist Road Map in Royal Klang Town, Selangor - for this Staycation, I focused my visit in Jalan Tunku Diaudin, the Art Street which is a new tourist attraction in Royal Klang town & a few major tourist sites along the way in my walking tour !

1) Klang Railway Station (Stesen Keretaapi)

4) Little India, Jalan Tengku Kelana, Klang

5) Masjid India Muslim, Jalan Tengku Kelana, Klang
