Day Two (Part 1) - continued my heritage trail in Historic Melaka
Museums, Museums & Museums - The historic city of Melaka has a number of museums for tourists to visit - so if you are a museum lover, you may have to spend a fair bit of time moving around to visit each one of them. Many of these museums are within walking distance near the Dutch Square - so to save time, I suggest you carry a tourist map with you for guidance on directions etc. So do not mess out your time if you are pressed for time in Melaka !
1) Maritime Museum (Muzium Samudera), Jalan Merdeka - also known as Flor de la Mar, a replica of the Portuguese ship which sank in the coast of Melaka. The Museum shows the maritime history of Melaka, the golden ages of Melaka's Sultanate and different eras that Melaka has gone through.
The Museum was officially opened by Dr Mahatiar, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia in June 1994.

4) Malaysia Youth Museum & Melaka Art Gallery, 430 Jalan Laksamana

7) Museum UMNO Melaka, Jalan Kota
8) The Malay & Islamic World Museum, Jalan Kota
9) Democratic Government Museum, Jalan Kota
10) Governor's Museum, Literature Museum & History Museum, Jalan Kota
11) Islamic Museum Melaka, Jalan Kota - The Islamic Museum was set up not solely for the purpose of exhibiting documents and artefacts pertaining to the Islam religion, but also as a center to research on how Islam came to Melaka and how the religion spread to the entire country.
12) History, Ethnography & Literature Museum, Jalan Kota
13) Baba & Nyonya House Museum, 48 Jalan Tan Cheng Lock
14) Museum Royal Malaysian Custom Department
15) Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum, Jalan Kota - a replica of a 15th century palace in Melaka. The Museum mainly display exhibits that are related to the culture of Melaka.
