7) The Sky Pond (Tian Chi), Changbai Shan, Jilin - a volcanic crater, 2194m high, surrounded with 16 mountainous peaks. At the time of our visit, it was drizzling, misty & cloudy at the volcano peak, so be patient if you want to capture a clear view of the lake. Nearly missed seeing the Heaven Lake, a spectacular volcano crater lake (2194m) in Changbai Shan. Rain, misty weather & cloudy when I visited the Lake in August 2011 but lady luck was with me despite of all the odds.

8) Uphill winding roads by jeep ride to Heaven Lake, Changbai Shan viewpoint, Jilin - scary ride as the road is winding like a car racing track but exciting !

9) Tian Wen Peak (2670m) & Heaven Lake, Changbai Shan, Jilin - cold & windy, drizzling, a short walk to view the famous crater lake, awesome & stunning view but be patient ! For package tour visitors with limited time, as the peak could be misty & foggy at a certain time of the year, you may go away with disappointment as the crater lake could be hardly visible ! I waited almost an hour in order to see a clearer view of the crater lake ! 

10) Overnight stay in Jilin City, Jilin - 2nd largest city & former capital of Jilin Province, China; an evening walk to a nearby bridge.
