Day 23 Saturday Dec 7 2024 (Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India) - my last day in Bhubaneswar, as my Air Asia flight departing mid-night hence I have a full day in Bhubaneswar thus able to focus my day visit to 2 tourist places ie Buddha Jayanti Park & Nandankanan Zoological Park (my 1st encounter, seeing a White Bengal tiger, squirrel monkey, cotton-up Tamarin & black tufted Marmoset in Nandankanan Zoo). In Oct 2019, I had the opportunity to visit Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (established 1958), Darjeeling, West Bengal (my 1st encounter of a snow leopard, red panda, royal Bengal tiger, Himalayan Tahr & blue sheep).
1) Buddha Jayanti Park, Lumbini Vihar, Neeladri Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, Odisha - free admission, a public park ideal for family outing & recreation especially during the weekends; bus ride from Palasuni bus stop (near our hotel) > Town Bus Stand > Buddha Jayanti Park.
2) Auto rickshaw ride (Rs20) from Buddha Jayanti Park > Main Road & a bus ride (Rs40) > Nandankanan Zoo (10.4km)
3) Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar, Odisha - a 437 hectare zoo & botanical garden located in Baranga village, Odisha, 10km south of Cuttack & 10km north of Bhubaneswar, established since 1960s, entrance fee for zoo Rs100 (Rm5.40 = US$1.23) & Nandakanan safari Rs110 (Rm6, air-conditioned vehicle).
4) Nandankanan Zoo Map, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar, Odisha - spent approx 3 hours inside, skipped visiting the bird park due to time constraint !

11) Tiger Safari, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar - the start of my safari adventurous ride on Nandankanan Zoological Park for the next 45 minutes, curiosity was very much in my mind - wondering how many tigers, lions, bears or herbivore animals I could spot on in the open forest ? Spotted a tiger lazing / resting / sleeping from far, behind a tree trunk albeit a close-up view, in this tiger safari ride !
12) Lion Safari, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar - spotted two lions (one male & one female) resting in the shade near a tree trunk, no lion roaring sound heard but all of us were happy with this sighting !
13) Bear Safari, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar - saw a big black bear wondering around the bush & another one from far partially hidden by hanging tree branches & leaves !
14) Herbivore Safari, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar - saw a herd of over 20 dears gathering near a drinking area, a peacock & 2 or 3 monkeys were in the vicinity too !
15) Giraffe, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar - after the safari ride, both of us continued our walkabout in the zoo .......
16) Common Ostrich, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar
17) Ungulate mammals, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar - elephant, giraffe, zebra antelope, ostrich, turtle corners ! I had to skip seeing some of these mammals due to time constraints !
18) Sloth Bear, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar
19) Indian tiger, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar - The Bengal tiger or Royal Bengal tiger, Melanistic tiger ? Why are Indian tiger's stripes (broad & black) thicker than the others ? Biggest wild cats alive today ! Their presence in this earth dating back 12,000 > 16,500 years ago ! Strive well in scrubland, forests & grassland. I could love to dip into this small cool water pond with an Indian tiger but who could guarantee my safety "sleeping" with a fiercest animal (weighing 300 > 350 kilos) in this zoo ! I am a lightweight with a body weight of around 60 kilos ! Even if you look like a big fat "cat" with a big tummy weighing 80 > 90 kilos, do you dare to take the challenge, I doubt so !
20) White Indian tiger, Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar - a rare specie of Bengal tiger, my 1st encounter, on 28 July 2014, the first pseudo melanistic tiger (male) was born in captivity in this zoo to Sneha (white female) & Manis (normal colour male), thereafter 3 more cubs were born ! I believe this white tiger is one of the cubs born in this zoo ! Make a "tsunami" run if you see one heading your way or stand still just smile at the beast hopefully your kind gesture saves your soul & get you off from this predicament !

Day 24 Sunday Dec 8 2024 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) - my last day in Bhubaneswar, Odisha before flying home sweet home !
1) Hotel check-out (20.00) - e-hailing a Uber cab from the hotel > Bhubaneswar Airport (Rs270 = Rm14.60 = US$3.30, 9.4km)
2) Arrival in Biju Pitnak International Airport, Bhubaneswar, Odissa - security check, luggage check-in, boarding pass, immigration & passport stamping, waiting lounge, airport shuttle bus & flight boarding, Air Asia flight delay of 45 minutes departing Bhubaneswar 00.30 arriving Kuala Lumpur 07.00
2) Arrival in Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (07.00) - Home Sweet Home ! Immigration clearance, luggage collection, taking a KLIA2 airport bus (Rm11) > KL Sentral > LRT train to SS15, Subang Jaya (home place). Thus ending my 24 days visit with my my travel buddy (K F Wong) to Sri Lanka (Colombo) & Southern India (Kochi, Puducherry, Mahabalipuram, Chennai, Puri & Bhubaneswar)
3) Airport bus ride (Rm11, senior citizen) from KLIA2 > KL Sentral & LRT train ride (Rm1.90) from KL Sentral > SS15, Subang Jaya, Selangor (my home place)
